It is not a myth that clogging in the arteries can be gradually reduced by regular intake of certain vegetable juices and herbal extracts though such ingredients may not have been subjected to any scientific research. I have first hand knowledge of my younger brother going thro’ such a process over a period of six months and two consecutive angiograms showing reduction in the blockage. But it requires infinite patience and strict discipline in the daily food intake to get positive results. I am now aged 74 and I had suffered from hypertension at 50 yrs of age, took statins and BP medication for 2 yrs or so but I was able to stop the medicines soon after, first by making drastic changes in my diet, including stopping meat intake, reducing my weight from 79 kg to 69 kg in 6 months, and starting a regular 20 ml dosage of a herbal extract prepared by myself with garlic, ginger, lemon and apple cedar vinegar. So, belief systems based on past experience, whether documented or not or passed on by word of mouth down the generations have their place and value, scientific proof only confirm or negate such belief if proven wrong.
