Why a Warm-Up is Important
Warm-Up Pre Exercise. A good warm-up will raise your body temperature, which is particularly helpful to your muscles. As your muscle temperature increases, oxygen becomes more available to your muscles, allowing them to contract and relax more easily. So you’ll be able to perform more strenuous tasks with ease. Your heart is also given a chance to prepare, meaning it won’t be too strained during your workout.
Why should you do it?
Warm-Up Pre Exercise. When your body is at rest, only about 20% of your total blood volume is in the muscles, the rest being in the organs. However, during exercise, as much as 80% of your blood is in the muscles. Warming up gives the body a chance to move the blood into your muscles, where it can provide oxygen and nutrients and eliminate waste.
In the meantime, the movement also warms up the joints and lubricates them, so they’re ready for action.
When Should I Warm-Up
Just before you start your exercise is the best time. Also, it is beneficial as a body wake up in the morning about 30 minutes after you get up. Furtheremore, after a long period of sitting in cars, planes or the house. Consequently, many of us take afternoon naps and a warm-up can give you a boost if you are still drowsy.
Failure to warm-up
Failure to complete proper warm-up leaves you liable for accidents and injuries. Such as a torn muscle that takes a long time to heal and can be extremely painful. Also, this type of injury can seriously compromise your mobility. And leave you isolated in your home.
Limited Mobility
If you have limited mobility, you can still warm up from a chair. Limited mobility may restrict some movement, but that should not stop you from taking part. You will be able to complete most of these moves from the seated position. A chair with no arms would be the best option.
In Conclusion
A warm-up is essential for prepareing your body for exercise. So, it is important to remember that warming-up prevents injuries. Also, stretching should be done after your workout, never before it.
